Tax Help Available for Southeast Michigan Seniors

Older Adults Should Plan to Get Help Early This Tax Season

Many seniors turn to their senior center or other community resources for help with their taxes. This year, many centers still have limited appointments available, making it critical for seniors and family caregivers to reach out early to get an appointment booked.

Kelly Elswick, an AgeWays Resource Specialist who manages our Resource Database, has been busy contacting local organizations to understand what kind of tax help will be available to seniors and what that help might look like this year. Kelly says that—much like last year—she is finding there are fewer organizations offering assistance, and many of those organizations have a reduced capacity to help when compared to past years. “This means there are just fewer available appointments.” she said. “So seniors who need help with their taxes need to act quickly.” See below for the list of 2024 Tax Assistance for Seniors in Southeast Michigan .

All Counties:
