Golf, Fun and Meals: PGA’s Rocket Mortgage Classic Lets You Donate to Holiday Meals on Wheels

AgeWays is excited to be have been chosen as one of the nonprofits supported by the PGA Rocket Mortgage Classic Birdies for Charity Program.

You can join in the excitement of the PGA Tour’s stop here in Detroit on June 27 – 30 and support Holiday Meals on Wheels at the same time. Donating is easy and fun. Just use the designated AgeWays Birdies for Charity Donation Link. You can choose to donate a specific amount or donate an amount for each birdie the PGA pros get during the tournament.

How Your Donation Helps
Meals on Wheels brings much-needed food and compassion to the doors of seniors in our area every weekday. For most seniors, it’s the bright spot in what otherwise might be a lonely and isolated day. The volunteer that comes to their door may be the only person they talk to that day. Unfortunately, while traditional government funding covers the cost of meals on weekdays, there is no funding for meals on the holidays. We depend on donations from people like you to make sure homebound seniors are not hungry or alone on the holidays.

Your donation ensures that a caring volunteer will be at their doorstep delivering a hot, festive meal and bringing the joy and compassion that make a holiday special.

• Over 8,000 meals are needed each holiday season.
• Traditional government funding does not cover the cost of meals delivered on a holiday.
• Holiday meals are delivered on Thanksgiving Day, Hanukkah, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Passover and Easter.
