Each year, AgeWays proudly joins advocates, older adults, and partner organizations from across the state for Older Michiganians Day—an annual rally at the Capitol that gives Michigan seniors a platform to speak up and be seen.

This powerful event helps legislators better understand the needs of Michigan’s aging population—and the voting power that comes with it.

• Advocacy rally on the Capitol’s East Lawn

• Remarks from key legislative and advocacy leaders

• Presentation of the Michigan Community Service Awards

• Presentation of the Senior Citizen of the Year Award

• Opportunities to connect with state lawmakers

• Expanding access to Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)

• Increasing funding for essential in-home care

• Supporting family and informal caregivers
