Southfield, MI (June 10, 2013) – AgeWays, a large nonprofit serving a six-county region in Michigan, announced the recent appointment of five new county commissioners and the reappointment of a sixth county commissioner to the agency’s Board of Directors. Commissioner Kathy Crawford of Oakland County, Commissioner David Domas of Livingston County, Commissioner Andrew LaBarre of Washtenaw County, Commissioner Tom Reilly of St. Clair County, and Commissioner Jason Turner of Monroe County joined the AgeWays Board of Directors in 2013 for a two year term. Commissioner Toni Moceri of Macomb County was reappointed to serve her third two-year term.
“These individuals will help lead AgeWays to effectively respond to the needs of a growing demographic of older adults in each of their respective counties and throughout our southeastern Michigan region,” said AgeWays Chief Executive Officer Tina Abbate Marzolf. “We are thrilled to have their expertise on our board and grateful for their commitment to older adults, persons with disabilities and family caregivers in their regions.”
Commissioner Kathy Crawford of Oakland County, a resident of Novi, is the owner of Kathy Crawford Communications and has more than 35 years experience in the aging network as the former Director of the City of Novi Senior Citizen Center and Director of Programming for Oakland/Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) .
Commissioner David Domas of Livingston County, a resident of Fenton, is an Air Force Veteran and retired business owner and CEO of D.J. Domas, Inc., an engineering sales firm. Domas is also former chair of the Livingston Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Andrew LaBarre of Washtenaw County, a resident of Ann Arbor, is the Vice President of Government Affairs and Administration for the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber, and a former staff member of U.S. Senator Carl Levin and Congressman John D. Dingell.
Commissioner Tom Reilly of St. Clair County, a resident of Port Huron, is a licensed private detective, and a retired captain of the Port Huron Township Fire Department, where he served for more than 20 years.
Commissioner Jason Turner of Monroe County, a resident of Monroe, is Branch Manager for Acceptance Capital Mortgage Corporation and sits on the Personal Services/Human Resources Committee, the Finance Committee and the Economic Development Board for Monroe County.
Commissioner Toni Moceri of Macomb County, was appointed to the AgeWays Board in 2009 and reappointed in 2011 and in 2013 for a third two-year term. A resident of Warren, Moceri is the Chair of the County’s Health and Human Services Committee, which oversees services for older adults.
