Action Week and Rally Gives Michigan Seniors a Voice

Decisions made in Lansing have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of older adults across Michigan. Each year, AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services proudly participates in Senior Action Week and the Older Michiganians Day Rally at the Michigan State Capitol. These important annual advocacy events give seniors a platform to share their voices and help legislators better understand both the needs—and the voting power—of Michigan’s aging population.

Senior Action Week is filled with activities, events, and advocacy efforts designed to raise awareness and build support around key issues affecting older adults statewide.

Senior Action Week 2025 is May 5-9 | Older Michiganians Day is May 7

This year’s advocacy platform includes 3 key priorities:

  1. Expand Access to Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)
  2. Increase Funding for Essential In-Home Services
  3. Support Family and Informal Caregivers

The letters and platform information are available in both Spanish and Arabic.
