CSSWC’s Senior Resource Connect collaboration emphasizes the health, engagement, and independence of at-risk older adults and caregivers.

  • CSSW has designed community-based programs for the 60+ population to negotiate the challenges of caregiving or living alone, maintaining a home, and finding critical community resources Through professional staff, trained volunteers and collaborations with community parishes, our services include respite and adult day activities, the installation of home safety devices, minor chores and repairs, and a trusted advocate to provide individualized assistance to find whatever help is needed.

Grandparents As Parents

  • Support groups that provide a sense of community for caregivers and the children in their care
  • Newsletter with valuable updates on free and low-cost events and info around Washtenaw County
  • Educational workshops and presentations to equip grandparents to better care for themselves and their grandchildren
  • Resources, including financial assistance, clothing, food, etc.

Home Maintenance and Safety Services

  • Basic household repairs & routine maintenance
  • Smoke alarms & carbon monoxide detectors
  • Battery and light bulb exchanges
  • Grab bars and shower chairs
  • Raised toilet seats, hand held showers
  • Limited outdoor chores

Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP)

  • Assistance in making informed decisions regarding health insurance and prescription drug coverage to best meet their needs.

Resource Advocacy

  • Referrals to health and social service resource options in the community
  • Assistance in completing complicated forms and facilitating access to services as needed
  • Medicare/Medicaid (MMAP) assistance for seniors and adults with disabilities
  • Substance and Elder Abuse prevention information and referrals for assistance
  • Assistance with immediate or emergency needs for food, shelter or other basic requirements

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

  • Offer a wide range of engaging volunteer assignments throughout Washtenaw County.
