Goldenberry Adult Day Center

GoldenBerry Adult Day Caring Center is a credentialed Montessori Inspired Lifestyle program that offers services Monday through Friday from 7:30 am-5:30 pm. Trained staff provides a program geared at allowing those with Alzheimer’s or dementia related conditions to remain in a home setting while receiving socialization, supervision and medical care. Flexible attendance options available.

It offers lunch, snacks and activities. Personal care is available upon request. Lift-equipped transportation is available to those within a 15 mile radius of the center.

Must be an older resident of Macomb County, with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or other type of dementia, who cannot be safely left home alone, can no longer structure his or her own daily activities, or is experiencing social isolation, depression, memory loss or chronic illness.

Meals on Wheels
Delivers a ready to eat meal to homebound Macomb County residents who are age 60 or older.

Community Dining Site
Dining Senior Style is a daily lunch program that provides an opportunity to have a well-balanced meal while engaging in games and activities with peers and other participants. This program is offered at various locations throughout Macomb County.  Please call for site locations.

Friendly Callers
Volunteers make weekly calls to seniors for friendly conversation.  Must be a Macomb County resident who is age 60 or older

Medical/Adaptive Equipment Loan Closet
Offers wheelchairs, canes (3 or 4 prong) and walkers.  Please call to inquire about availability of an item.

Home Maintenance/Minor Home Repair/Chore Services
Handy Helpers program provides assistance with household maintenance tasks including: replacing light bulbs; replacing door locks and window catches; replacing faucet washers or faucets; installing weather stripping around doors; repairing furniture; and installing window shades and curtain rods. Also provides pest control, safety devices for seniors with memory issues and heavy duty cleaning, including: cleaning appliances, carpets and rugs, scrubbing floors, washing walls and windows.  Must be a Macomb County resident who is age 60 or older.

Advocacy Program
The Community Liaison program identifies and assesses frail, older adults and links them to appropriate community services. Advocates will review eligibility for various programs, assist with completion of forms and applications.  Must be a Macomb County resident who is age 60 or older.
