Utility Assistance
- The Home Heating Tax Credit (HHTC) is a state benefit available to eligible low-income households to help offset the cost of home heating. The credit is issued as a refund or energy draft. The maximum credit for a single person is $500. The claim must be postmarked by September 30, to receive credit.
- For standard credit, must be a resident of Michigan with an annual income of $14,043 or less for one person or $18,986 or less for two persons. Homeowners and renters are eligible for this credit. Persons residing in adult foster care homes, nursing facilities, homes for the aged and substance abuse facilities are not eligible.
