At AgeWays, we believe that every older adult deserves access to healthy, delicious meals—whether they’re enjoying a friendly lunch at a local community center or receiving a warm meal delivered right to their door. Senior nutrition programs—Meals on Wheels and congregate/community dining—make it easier for older adults to stay nourished, independent, and socially connected.
Meals on Wheels program provides home-delivered meals to older adults (60 and older) who are homebound. Delivered by caring volunteers or drivers, these meals offer more than just nutrition—they bring connection and peace of mind to both seniors and their families.
Key Benefits:
To find out if you or a loved one qualifies, contact us or call (800) 852-7795.

The program is available to people over 60. There are no financial eligibility requirements. Instead, eligibility is based on whether or not someone is homebound and can leave their home without assistance.

AgeWays supports Meals on Wheels and community dining programs in six counties in Southeast Michigan. We do not provide meals directly. Instead, we help fund and provide oversight for the program in our region— contracting with a network of trusted local organizations that provide meals in their communities. Funding for the program comes from a combination of federal, state, and local dollars.
If you’re interested in receiving Meals on Wheels for yourself or a loved one, contact the Meals on Wheels program in your community. They can tell you more about how the program works in your area and if you or your loved one might be eligible. If it looks as though you might qualify, the program will conduct an in-home assessment to confirm eligibility.

Weekday Meals
Typically, meals are delivered Monday through Friday.

Weekend Meals
Some Meals on Wheels programs provide weekend meals for those who qualify.

Voluntary Donation
Donations from Meals on Wheels recipients are strongly encouraged to help cover the costs of this valuable meal program.
Meals are delivered by trained staff and volunteers who take the time to know each senior personally. Each visit doubles as a daily wellness check and a chance for friendly conversation.
